Jarkko Helin

Jarkko Helin started diving in 2006.  He found GUE in 2010 and at present he is an active GUE Cave 2 and Tech 2 diver. Between the years 2008 - 2012 Jarkko was an instructor for PADI, training advanced open water divers and assistant instructors. After an intense training he became a GUE instructor in 2012 and has taught exclusively GUE courses ever since. At the moment Jarkko can teach the GUE Tech 1, Rec 3, Fundamentals -, Drysuit- and Doubles courses.

His spare time Jarkko likes to spend underwater both admiring the wrecks around the Gulf of Finland, roaming the tunnels of the Ojamo mine or just relaxing in the shallow waters of the shore diving locations at the Southern Finland. Jarkko has a soft spot for the world war wrecks, especially the submarines. Jarkko regularly visits dive locations abroad and he's been thus far diving in the tropical waters of Asia, the Red Sea, the wrecks of the Mediterranean as well as the caves both in Mexico and France and the submerged mines of Sweden. Jarkko has been actively developing the GUE community in Finland both with GUE Finland and the legendary Keittokatos Underwater Explorers. He is also an active member of the dive clubs Tres Dyckers and PSK Kupla.

In the life outside diving Jarkko teaches classic guitar. His pedagogic training and more than 10 years of professional experience in teaching give him an outstanding basis for the quality diver training. The profession also allows him to spend loads of time in the summer time diving - and why not teaching your dive course! In addition to the underwater adventures Jarkko likes to jog, swim, watch sports and read books about history, warfare and politics.

Jarkko lives in Helsinki, but is willing to travel. Thus courses can be run at your preferred location.
Don't hesitate to get in touch through e-mail or say hello at a dive site, there's always time for a chat about GUE or diving in general!
